Known as "The Route of the Black Bear," the Algoma Central Railway is a Canadian railroad operating entirely in Ontario. Development of the railroad began in 1899. Starting in Sault Ste Marie, the line eventually reach Hearst, Ontario. The discovery of the iron ore deposit at Wawa was the driving force of the Railway's construction, and proved to be the stimulus of the Sault Ste Marie Steel Industry. Sold out at Kato.
