HO 45Ft Trailmobile Dry-Van Trailer - Canada Cartage #428L45HT
The Canadian Piggyback Trailer features:
Landing gear has two separate pieces to create in-motion or parked positions

26Ft trailers have two styles of front stabilizing bars to create in-motion or parked positions
Three individual numbers per scheme
Rapido Trains Inc. is proud to offer not one, but two styles of Canadian piggyback trailers! A first for the industry!
The two trailers are the 26Ft Can-Car Industries Dry-Vans with and without side doors, and the 45Ft Trailmobile design trailers, also with and without side doors. The 26Ft trailers were widely used by Canadian National and Canadian Pacific for package delivery services, as well as trucking services and retail store owners. These unique trailers have the iconic ribbed sides with catchy graphics. Eventually they were phased out of service in the 1980s.
The 45Ft Trailmobile trailers arrived in Canada in the mid-1970s, almost a full decade before they launched in the US. These venerable trailers also had the option for side doors, for easier access. Much like the 26Ft trailers, CN and CP both had good quantities as well as small and large trucking services. Many wore a variety of colourful schemes, so crank up that memory machine and grab a few of these neat trailers today!

Rapido is happy to announce the next in their series of classic General Electric locomotives, the C30-7 in HO scale.
The C30-7 was General Electrics improvement of the U30C locomotive, featuring a 16-cylinder 3,000 horsepower diesel engine. Built between September 1976 and May 1986, over 1100 units were produced for many of the Class I railroads across the United States for use primarily in heavy-haul freight. A fair number would go on to have extended careers with both short/regional lines and private industrial railroads, owing to the locomotives reliability and pulling power.
It is, perhaps, the most polarizing locomotive from the 1980s and early 90s. The C30-7 was GEs answer to the SD40-2. When one thinks of Powder River and coal, the C30-7 isnt far behind. Burlington Northern owned the most in the States, with just over 240 examples. Santa Fe was a distant second with 157 C30s.
The C30-7 later gave way to the similar C36-7, as well as various unique models such as the Conrail C30-7A and the BC Rail C36-8m, rebuilt from former Conrail C30-7s.

HO 35Ft Fruehauf Integral-Post Volume Van - PRR: 1950s #35 C 542
A transport revolution started in the 1950s - the advent of the piggyback trailer. No longer was it necessary to transfer loads to and from freight cars to local trucks for shipment or delivery. Instead, the entire loaded trailer could be driven from a loading dock to a freight yard, loaded on a train, then delivered to its final destination.
For the 1955-60s era, we offer the 35Ft Fruehauf Integral-Post Volume Van with ribbed sides and rounded corners. These trailers will also be available with or without curb-side loading doors.
Our 1960s offerings include two designs; the 40Ft Fruehauf Exterior-Post Volume Van and the 40Ft Fruehauf Fluted-Side Volume Van, both with side door options where appropriate and the later in both refrigerated and dry van forms.
All of these trailers will be available in a variety of prototypical paint schemes for both railroads and private trucking companies. All schemes will be offered in three individual numbers.
Acrylic Flat Colors - Light Blue - 3/4oz (23mL) Bottle
XF-23
Tamiya acrylic paints are made from water-soluble acrylic resins and are excellent for either brush painting or air-brushing. These paints can be used on styrol resins, Styrofoam, wood, plus all of the common model plastics. The paint covers well, flows smoothly and can be blended easily.
When airbrushing make sure to use any of the following Tamiya thinners: 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520, 87077
X designated colors have a glossy finish while XF designated colors are flat finish.
The paint can be also thinned for airbrushing using Tamiya Lacquer Thinner. Using Tamiya Lacquer Thinner will yield faster drying results and a harder finish.
For better paint brushing results use Paint Retarder for a smoother brushstroke free finish.

PROTOTYPE INFO:
In 1949, EMD introduced the GP7. The basic design followed most diesel switchers with the addition of a short hood instead of an end-cab. The hoods were also full height to better accommodate the diesel engine and mechanical and electrical components.
In 1954 EMD upgraded the GP7 to become the 1,750 horsepower GP9. Externally, the first GP9s were virtually unchanged from the last GP7s. Later versions would include different louver arrangements and the last ones would come without the frame skirting. The GP9 was available with all of the fuel tank, steam generator, and dynamic brake options as the GP7, including -torpedo tube- air tanks mounted on the roof.
Many railroads chose to rebuild their GP7s and GP9s for continued service. Often times, it was cheaper to do this rather than purchasing brand-new locomotives.

Spray Can - Gun Metal (100mL)
This product is considered HAZARDOUS. Shipping restrictions may apply. This item may not be shipped by air.
Tamiya TS clear-coat spray is a synthetic lacquer that cures in a short period of time. The spray paint is extremely useful for painting large model surfaces. Tamiya spray paints are not affected by acrylic or enamel paints, therefore, following the painting of the entire assembly, details can be added or highlighted using enamel and/or acrylic paints.
Allow paint to fully cure before using clear coat. This will prevent the clear coat from cracking due to different cure rates from the paint underneath. For best results allow up to one week. Make sure to test clear coating over decals before applying to a finished project. Applying clear coat can harm some decals.
NOTE: TAMIYA TS paint is not designed to be used with clear Polycarbonate/LEXAN R/C body shells. The paint will flake off. For Polycarbonate applications please use Tamiya PS spray paint.

Acrylic Flat Colors - J.N. Green - 3/4oz (23mL) Bottle
XF-11

Product Information
For generations of travelers, Union Station was the magical gateway to and from the world. The Walthers Cornerstone Union Station will be the gateway to your layout! Here is where the journeys of the finest trains on the line started and ended. Where travelers rushed to make their connections. And thousands of commuters began and ended their workday. Where space was limited in larger towns and cities, two or more railroads would often combine their resources to build and operate major terminal stations. Monuments to the power and success of railroading, they also projected the spirit of the community they served and the promise of excellent service for anyone who traveled by train.
Union Station is a fitting tribute to the grand terminals that served railroading for over 100 years. Whether your line runs heavyweights and steam, the flashy diesel streamliners of the 40s and 50s, or any of the colorful schemes and equipment of the Amtrak-era, Union Station is an ideal focal point for passenger operations. Designed to capture the look and feel of similar prototypes across America, it puts big detail in a small space without overwhelming your layout. If space is limited, it can be the focal point of operations for an entire layout. And best of all, this unique kit is based on an American prototype, so it looks right and fits perfectly without kitbashing. All the classic design elements are here, from the tall support columns to the nonworking clock on the roof. Each wall captures the look of cut-stone construction and is molded in color so painting is an option. Separate doors and windows, along with molded-in cut lines on the back of each wall simplify customizing. The large roof is neatly detailed with large skylights and numerous vents to make it more realistic. End-door canopies, realistic decals and many other details are also included.
As shown Union Station measures: 16 x 6 x 5-1/2inch (40 x 15 x 16.2cm)

HO Thrall 5-Unit Rebuilt 40ft Well Car - BNSF #238223 (A-E)
Modernize your HO Scale intermodal fleet in minutes with WaltherMainline Thrall Rebuilt 40ft Well Cars! As the 53ft container quickly became the standard for domestic shipping, older well cars built to carry 48ft boxes soon fell out of favor with railroads. Today they can be seen carrying 20ft and 40ft containers in the well, with 40ft and 53ft units on top. Fully assembled and ready for service, the models feature:

HO PS4750 Covered Hopper - L&N Family Lines (Original 12-1980) #242196
Product: Pullman-Standard PS-2CD 4750 Covered Hopper
Scale: HO Scale 1:87.1
Truck: Tangent 100-ton Barber S-2 trucks with prototype-specific rotating bearing caps and separate brake beam part
Wheels: CNC-Machined 36inch Wheels
LN Family Lines -Original 12-1980- is an exciting offering for us, championed by Family Lines and CSX modelers alike. Built in 1980, the L&N cars have those distinctive wider jacking tabs associated with much (but not all!) of Pullmans late production. The center sill correctly models the brake linkage -access holes- on one side of the car, just like the real ones. Notice the side posts - they are the proper -closed hole- style at the bottom. This matches the L&N order exactly. Our 100-ton Barber S-2 trucks are beige to match the body paint. This is a big scheme, and we know the Family Lines modelers have been very patient.

The GP38. That -other- Geep youve been waiting for! At long last there is a proto-specific, dynamically detailed, Electro-Motive
General Purpose -38- class locomotive. And it only took 50 years since the last straight 38 rolled out of La Grange, Illinois. This
venerable locomotive packed 2,000 hp, low or high short hoods and paved the way for future -GP- models to follow. 706 of these
four-axle beasts were manufactured at EMDs La Grange Plant, at the heart of railroad world. Of the 706 built, Penn Central, B&O
and Southern were the largest purchasers of this model. Southerns were unique in that they continued an age-old tradition of
ordering high short hoods for added crew safety. Their eye-pleasing black, white and gold striping along with their harmonious
Nathan P horns certainly made them fan favorites.
By the 90s, many GP38s were worn down and ready for a rebuild. Many roads either sold them to leasing companies or elected
to rebuild them to Dash 2 standards, some chopping the high hoods down. With the reduction of many four-axle locomotives on
class one rosters, many of these locomotives can still be found racking up miles on regional roads and shortlines. In fact, even some
tourist and museums have GP38s!

During the late 1980s, CSX Transportation modified many of their GP40-2s into -slug mothers- that powered RDMT (CSX term, short for Road-Mate) road slugs. The -slug- is a term used for (in most cases) a secondary locomotive that has a removed/deactivated engine but kept its traction motors. The -mother- unit at slow speeds can produce enough power to provide electric current to other traction motors using the same amount of fuel consumption. The -mother- and -slug- combination can provide the power of two locomotives using a single diesel powered unit. CSX liked the results, and modified many older GP30 and GP35s into road slugs, retaining their cab controls so that they could still be operated in lead position, but without the noise from the prime mover.

HO 40Ft Fruehauf Exterior-Post Volume Van - PRR: 1960s #200578

The Cotton Belt?s only group of Greenville 86ft Box Cars were delivered in March of 1970, painted in SP Scarlet Red including those aluminum doors! SP lettering gray was painted in an oval shape on the doors, leaving a huge SP in place in scarlet red. Also, the slogan HY-CUBE CUSHION-CAR along with most of the small data is accurately replicated in SP lettering gray. The COTTON BELT road name and reporting marks are accurately painted white. The prototype car featured a Center-Of-Car Cushioning underframe with 20-inch Keystone draft gear, and so does the Tangent model. The Keystone COCC system has a distinctive look ? notice how the draft gear sticks out longer than the car body. Truck-mounted brake details complete the underframe, along with corresponding truck-mounted brake beams on the 100-Ton Low profile Barber S-2-A trucks. At any angle, these B-100-26 box cars are stunners.

PROTOTYPE SPECIFIC INFORMATION
By the early 1970s, many first generation diesels were reaching the end of their service lives. The most common replacement locomotives became the GP40-2. EMD began production of the 16-cylinder, turbocharged, 3000 horsepower engine in 1972. These locomotive were developed for service where higher horsepower and faster service were preferable. A major feature for the GP40-2 was the introduction of the -dash 2- modular electrical cabinet. For more than 40 years, the GP40-2 has worked main line freights, locals, switching jobs, yard service, and helper service. Many remain in service today.

Truck: Tangent 100-ton Barber S-2 trucks with rotating Timken bearing caps
Wheels: CNC-Machined 36in Wheels
NYC (CSX) H51C Ex-CR Quality Patch 1998+ gives us another peek into the later era for some of the H51C class. After the Conrail breakup was approved in 1998, NYC reporting marks were utilized by CSX for their portion of the CR car fleet. This scheme illustrates CSXs patching of their ex-CR H51Cs with NYC reporting marks from 1998 forward. This car has later-era gravity gates, along with body-mounted brake hardware with center-tube linkage. The B-end has as an Ajax hand brake, modern brake wheel, and a replacement Morton crossover walkway. The model is equipped with our industry-leading 100-ton Barber S-2 truck with proper body-style brake beam and rotating Timken caps! Modern modelers need some Tangent love, too. Examples of NYC-patched H51Cs lasted on the CSX into at least 2017!
Tru Color Paint - Acrylic - CN Green - 1oz
Tru-Color Railroad Color Acrylic Paint is a line of airbrush-ready paint accurately matched to colors used by railroads across the continent. The acrylic solvent based paint that is designed to be airbrushed directly from the bottle without thinning. The paint is designed for use on plastic models with no priming necessary, although you can use a primer if desired. Brass models must be sandblasted or treated before applying Tru-Color or the paint will not adhere properly. No additional gloss coat is necessary before applying decals to gloss or semi-gloss colors. Use acetone for airbrush cleanup, but do NOT thin Tru-Color Paint with acetone. Recommended airbrush pressure is 28 to 35psi. Not mixable with any other brands of paint, but can be sprayed over most fully cured colors from other manufacturers (experiment on a small section before proceeding).
