N Scale 100-Ton 2-Bay Covered Hoppers - Chessie System (4pk), with Foam Nest Built in 1979, these 100-ton 2-bay covered hoppers were 2,700 cubic feet in capacity and were painted in the new Chessie System yellow and blue scheme. Chessie System was formed through the 1972 mergers of Chesapeake & Ohio, Baltimore & Ohio, and Western Maryland. It remained one of the largest East coast railroads until 1986 when Seaboard System merged with Chessie to form todays rail giant, CSX Transportation.
