Atlas Model Railroad 10003765 EMD SD26 - LokSound and DCC - Master(TM) Gold -- Guilford Rail System ST 643 (gray, orange, yellow, Ditch Lights)
This detailed Atlas HO Scale Master Gold EMD SD26 is based on units which began life as 2,400-horsepower SD24 diesel road units produced by EMD between July 1958 and March 1963. In the 1970s Santa Fe began a rebuilding program which ultimately saw 80 units rebuilt as 2,650-horsepower SD26s. the units remained in service until the late 1980s and a batch of units sold to Guilford-Springfield Terminal soldiered on into the 1990s and early 2000s. This Atlas model features details unique to each roadname and working ditch lights if appropriate. Other features include a five-pole skewed-armature motor with dual flywheels, directional LED lighting, all-metal magnetic knuckle couplers, accurate decoration and roadname-appropriate body phase details. Plenty of applied details and realistic decoration for both prototype and fantasy "what if" schemes round out the detailed models. This EMD SD26 replica comes equipped with a dual-mode ESU LokSound Select sound and DCC decoder with Full Throttle effects for operation on DCC and DC layouts.
