Later additions carry KCS rails east through Monroe, Louisiana, and Jackson, Mississippi, to Meridian and Artesia, Mississippi, and an even later addition touches Tennessee at Counce. Southern Texas and Mexico-bound traffic rolls from Beaumont through Houston to Corpus Christi and Laredo, where KCS rails continue deep into Mexico. This volume chronicles KCS east from Kansas City across the former Gateway Western and south from Kansas City to the end of the Shreveport Subdivision at Shoreline, Louisiana.
