XF-56
Tamiya acrylic paints are made from water-soluble acrylic resins and are excellent for either brush painting or air-brushing. These paints can be used on styrol resins, Styrofoam, wood, plus all of the common model plastics. The paint covers well, flows smoothly and can be blended easily.
When airbrushing make sure to use any of the following Tamiya thinners: 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520, 87077
X designated colors have a glossy finish while XF designated colors are flat finish.
The paint can be also thinned for airbrushing using Tamiya Lacquer Thinner. Using Tamiya Lacquer Thinner will yield faster drying results and a harder finish.
For better paint brushing results use Paint Retarder for a smoother brushstroke free finish.

Product Information
Modernize your HO Scale intermodal fleet in minutes with WaltherMainline Thrall Rebuilt 40Ft Well Cars! PROTOTYPE SPECIFIC INFORMATION
In the decade between 1974 and 1984 , EMD produced the GP39-2 for seven North American railroads. The basic design followed most four axle road diesel switchers for the time. Borrowing improvements from the GP38-2 and GP40-2 designs, this mid-horsepower road switcher utilized a turbocharged 12-cylinder EMD 645E3 diesel engine for its prime mover. With 4 fewer cylinders, the smaller engine provided a distinctive long hood on the phase II and phase III bodies, where the clean room/engine compartment doors were set back from the cab further than predecessor locomotives.
Sensitivity to fuel economy in the 1970s justified the GP39-2 in the locomotive market. It also laid the ground work for EMD to start exploring locomotive designs that utilize engines with larger piston displacement yet posess fewer cylinders. This approach has become the foundation to modern locomotive technology.

The company didnt enter into the railroad freight car market until 1984, when Trinity acquired the railcar designs and production facilities of the Pullman-Standard Car Manufacturing Company, once the largest railcar manufacturer in North America. That same year Trinity also acquired the railcar designs of General American Transportation Corporation. In 1986 the rail car designs and production facilities of Greenville Steel Car Company were purchased, including the auto rack designs of Portec-Paragon. Also acquired in 1986 were the railcar designs of North American Car Corporation, and in 1987 Ortner Freight Car was acquired.
With this collective experience across several facilities, Trinity developed many new designs that became ubiquitous to present day railroading. One of their most famous designs is the 3-bay 5161cuft covered hopper. This covered hopper is optimized to transport agricultural products, sugar, dry chemicals, or other similar products and can be seen in unit train assignments all over North America. Introduced around 1995, these cars are extremely common today and owned by many Class 1 and short line railroads alike.

Prototype Information:
In 1955, Fairbanks Morse offered a new design for their existing H16-44 Phase I/II model locomotives. These changes involved raising the walkway & simplifying the short & long hood to make construction easier. Exterior-wise the locomotives looked much like their bigger brother – the H24-66 but with 4 axles instead of 6. Under the hood the locomotives were nearly identical to the earlier phases of H16-44 except for replacing the Westinghouse Electrical System with a more reliable General Electric system.
A total of 165 of the H16-44 Phase III Locomotives were built between 1955 and 1963. Locomotives for the Canadian Pacific Railway & Canadian National Railway were built by Fairbanks Morse subsidiary Canadian Locomotive Company. A total of 58 H16-44s of were built at this plant. The last H16-44 was built for the Ferrorcarril de Chihuahua al Pacifico Railroad in 1963. This was the last Fairbanks Morse Locomotive to roll off the assembly line as the company folded the same year.

PROTOTYPE AND BACKGROUND INFO:
Intermodal transportation requires specialized rail equipment which is, on occasion, too specialized. To allow more flexibility in loading containers and trailers at terminals all-purpose spine cars were developed. These cars can be configured to allow loading of trailers of varying lengths, from 28Ft pups to 53Ft high capacity units. With the trailer hitches collapsed containers can also be loaded. 40Ft, 45Ft 48Ft and 53Ft containers call all be accommodated on these cars as well as 20Ft models provided they are mounted to a chassis.
The prototype for our model is based on a Trinity-built car owned by the TTX Company. These 70-ton cars (TTX class RAF30A) numbered TTRX 360817-361116 first appeared on the rails in the late 1990s. The Athearn model is faithful to the prototype allowing modelers to load a variety of trailers and containers.

Tall Steel Viaduct Length Extension - 60Ft - Note picture in the middle is this kit
Tall steel viaducts are some of the most spectacular and interesting types of bridges. They are used by railroads to span wide and/or steep valleys, often replacing wooden trestles. These HO and HOn3 Tall Steel Viaducts are available in three base kits, three length extension kits, a height extension kit which adds a 4th and 5th story, and a tower kit. The various kits allow you to design and build your own custom bridge of any length from one to five stories high, with full towers or bents, and straight or curved. A 10-page instruction sheet with over 35 photos and illustrations is included. These bridges are beautifully detailed and are often the centerpiece structure on modelers layouts.

Rapido Trains Inc. is proud to announce another essential modern freight car, the Pacific Car & Foundry B-70-69/71/75 class boxcar in HO scale!
As the demand grew in the 70s for larger capacity boxcars, along with the need to replace aging 40ft cars, this series of 50ft double door boxes was produced by PC&F for the Southern Pacific and its subsidiary St. Louis Southwestern (SSW). Constructed between 1972 and 1975, these boxcars are 50ft-7inch in length with a capacity of either 5258 cu ft for standard cars, or 5119 cu ft for those equipped for DF (Damage Free) Loading. All B-70 boxcars feature Hydra-Cushion underframes and were delivered with either Youngstown or Superior doors.
Proving to be a versatile addition to the SP/SSW fleet, these boxcars were later rebuilt for Golden West Service and could be seen carrying goods across the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Many can still be seen on the rails today, whether in their original SSW or SP paint, as former Golden West cars stenciled back into SP, or under entirely new ownership.

HO EMD F40PH Ph2 w/ditch lights - DCC/Sound - Agawa Canyon #106
Amtraks second F40PH order incorporated several changes to the original Phase 1 design. Phase 2a and 2b units (230-279, 280-328) received larger 1800-gallon fuel tanks mounted toward the front of the frame. The air reservoirs were shifted toward the rear and to the engineers side, while the battery boxes were located on the firemans side. Newer and wider Nathan K5LA horns were specified, requiring a wider horn notch on the cab roof. Units 280-328 (termed Phase 2b) had four vertical ribs at the rear of each side.
When new EPA regulations took effect in 1980, the radiator fans were replaced by quieter Q-fans creating the Phase 3 version of the F40PH. Phase 3 F40s share other spotting features with the Phase 2b F40. Many Phase 3 units were built for commuter agencies as well, but without dynamic brakes.
Amtraks F40PH units were eventually fitted with nose ditch lights. Around the same time the cab side steps and door were modified. Several F40PH units were sold to second-hand owners for use in regional and tourist services.
Rapido will offer both versions of the Phase 2b – original and ditch light-equipped with modified cab details – as well as a non-dynamic brake Phase 3 commuter unit.

Filters are designed to achieve a subtle tonal variation for especially vehicles in monotone camouflage colors. Shake and apply directly from the bottle with a moist flat brush. This dark brown filter allows us to change subtly the base tone of woods or light browns making it more accurate and authentic color. At the same time, the filter adds depth and richness to our vehicle or accessory, preparing it for the next paint steps. Use the filters by moistening a brush and applying it without flooding the surface, to enrich hues in your models, unify camouflage, or highlight areas with a different tone. With these products we will avoid mixing paints, looking for the correct dilution, or searching for the correct colors for our vehicle.
These filters are enamel based and can be cleaned or diluted with Odorless Enamel Thinner.
Spray Can - Flat Flesh #2 (100mL)
This product is considered HAZARDOUS. Shipping restrictions may apply. This item may not be shipped by air.
Tamiya TS clear-coat spray is a synthetic lacquer that cures in a short period of time. The spray paint is extremely useful for painting large model surfaces. Tamiya spray paints are not affected by acrylic or enamel paints, therefore, following the painting of the entire assembly, details can be added or highlighted using enamel and/or acrylic paints.
Allow paint to fully cure before using clear coat. This will prevent the clear coat from cracking due to different cure rates from the paint underneath. For best results allow up to one week. Make sure to test clear coating over decals before applying to a finished project. Applying clear coat can harm some decals.
NOTE: TAMIYA TS paint is not designed to be used with clear Polycarbonate/LEXAN R/C body shells. The paint will flake off. For Polycarbonate applications please use Tamiya PS spray paint.

HO GE C36-7 - DC/Silent - Ferrocarriles Nacionales de Mexico #419
The Rapido Trains HO Scale C36-7 is based on General Electric's higher-horsepower six-axle Dash-7 offering, with a 16-cylinder 3,600 horsepower or 3,750 hp rating (compared to the C30-7's 3,000 hp.) Built between July 1979 and February 1989, over 599 total units were produced. Of those, 129 were domestic orders for Conrail, Missouri Pacific, Norfolk & Western, and Norfolk Southern. Another 40 were made for Ferrocarril del Pacifico and National de Mexico. Lastly, 422 were made for China with many significant export differences, and the final units produced were 8 for Comilog in Gabon. Despite smaller production numbers, the C36-7 was ordered at key moments that resulted in it representing the evolution of GE s Dash-7 line more than the popular C30-7s. When GE launched "1977 Series Locomotives" (Dash-7s) in, they cataloged a C30-7, C33-7, and C36-7. Railroads immediately ordered C30-7's for booming coal service. The C33-7 was never ordered. The C36-7 was ignored until 1979, when National de Mexico and Ferrocarril del Pacifico placed orders. These export C36-7s for Mexico were essentially identical externally to C30-7s, which were being built by the hundreds at the time. Ferrocarril del Pacifico's units were repainted into striking two-tone blue FNM paint and worked both freight and passenger service. Of the 40 C36-7s built for Mexico, only one is still in service in 2024 - Ferromex 9336. Incredibly, despite being the last operating C36-7 (among few remaining operating C30-7's) 9336 was repainted in Ferromex's classy "Diet Coke" scheme in 2023. The Rapido model features railroad and era-specific details, etched-metal grilles and details, roadname-appropriate lighting packages and Rapido semi-scale knuckle couplers on both ends. The smooth-running drive features a five-pole motor with dual flywheels, backed up with the MoPower capacitor system for uninterrupted operation. This standard DC model is DCC ready with a 21-pin interface for easy conversion. The GE C36-7 is part of the line of Rapido Trains HO Scale locomotives.

HO Conrail (CR) G41A Repaint 1976 w/o Hoods PRR Shops G41A Coil Car
CR G41A Repaint 1976 w/oHoods illustrates an early CR repaint. Check out the thinner style CR logos, PC/CR style data stencils, and era appropriate ACI and PC/CR style double COTS. The early CR cars maintained their hoods for protection of the coil shipments. If you want to model the car later in their service lives, do not panic: The hoods are removeable. The interior troughs have all of that loading and identification data, too. The ends feature the original shorter style coupler lift bar brackets and Morton style crossover platforms. The 125-Ton trucks feature rotating Timken caps, 38in wheels and accurate brake beams with truck mounted brake details.
Also, these cars look great loaded with our all-new coil loads sold separately!
