Missouri Pacific (MP) -Original 1968- represents another frequently-requested paint scheme! MP ordered five different lots of Greenville auto parts box cars, and this lot was the largest at 157 units. The prototypes were delivered with MP -buzzsaw- logos on the right side of the car, and economical -Cushion Car- lettering on the left. Of course, as any self-respecting MP modeler will tell you, there is so much more to MP lettering than slapping a buzzsaw on the car. Tangents industry-leading artwork has duplicated the distinctive and intricate MP lettering style from the reporting marks down to the smallest stencils. The cars offered in this run were assigned to Fords Chicago Stamping Pool, resulting in an accurate Chicago Heights, Illinois return route stencil. Center-of-Car Cushioning draft gear detail variation with yellow end handles? Check. Distinctive Klasing 1150 hand brake? Check. Accurate Apex crossover platforms? Check. 100-Ton -Low Profile- Barber S-2-C Roller Bearing Trucks with 36inch wheels and rotating Timken caps? Check, check and check! These cars lasted in original paint into the late 1980s and went everywhere. The GP38. That -other- Geep youve been waiting for! At long last there is a proto-specific, dynamically detailed, Electro-Motive
General Purpose -38- class locomotive. And it only took 50 years since the last straight 38 rolled out of La Grange, Illinois. This
venerable locomotive packed 2,000 hp, low or high short hoods and paved the way for future -GP- models to follow. 706 of these
four-axle beasts were manufactured at EMDs La Grange Plant, at the heart of railroad world. Of the 706 built, Penn Central, B&O
and Southern were the largest purchasers of this model. Southerns were unique in that they continued an age-old tradition of
ordering high short hoods for added crew safety. Their eye-pleasing black, white and gold striping along with their harmonious
Nathan P horns certainly made them fan favorites.
By the 90s, many GP38s were worn down and ready for a rebuild. Many roads either sold them to leasing companies or elected
to rebuild them to Dash 2 standards, some chopping the high hoods down. With the reduction of many four-axle locomotives on
class one rosters, many of these locomotives can still be found racking up miles on regional roads and shortlines. In fact, even some
tourist and museums have GP38s!

HO Slab-Side Covered Hopper - Canadian Pacific (CP Script) #380302
6 Hatch
Features:
Highly detailed
Prototypically accurate
Era-appropriate paint schemes and lettering
Product Information
This detailed, ready-to-run Atlas Master HO Scale Slab-Side Covered Hopper is a highly detailed model of a car that was a mainstay for hauling all kinds of granulated materials. The Atlas model of this distinctive car is available in 6, 8, and 12 hatch versions, with or without the side sill openings. The Slab-Side Covered Hopper features a detailed, injection-molded body, appropriate trucks with metal wheels, body-mounted AccuMate knuckle couplers and accurate decoration. The development of the covered hopper car for the transport of bulk commodities for the agricultural, chemical, and construction industries entered a new phase in the late 1940s, when the shops of the Canadian Pacific Railroad introduced a 70-ton, 3000 cubic foot, interior braced hopper with smooth, welded sides similar in appearance to the Canadian offset side open hoppers of the era. This -slab side- design actually maximized the interior width of the car, thereby lowering the center of gravity and improving tracking stability. Cars of this design were produced from 1950-1964 by National Steel Car Company, Canadian Car and Foundry, Marine Industries and even Montreal Locomotive Works. Over the years of production, a number of different roof hatch arrangements for product loading were available, and the openings along the side sills - an early design change made by CP to give better access to the discharge mechanisms - became standard on all cars produced after 1954. These cars were a common sight on Canadian and US rails through the late 1990s hauling grain, malt, sugar, cement, or even sand for company use.

The Northern type locomotives on the Union Pacific were built by Alco Schenectady Works in 3 classes between August 1937 and December 1944. The first class, designated FEF-1, for Four Eight Four, comprised numbers 800-819. Fitted with 77-inch drivers and a 300-pound boiler pressure, UP was impressed by their performance and took delivery of 15 additional 4-8-4 locomotives in Aug-Oct 1939, numbers 820-834. These locomotives were equipped with 80-inch drivers and larger 14-wheel centipede style tenders with a 23,500 gallon capacity and were class FEF-2. In Dec 1944, 10 additional 4-8-4 locomotives were delivered, these equipped with low-backpressure double stacks, numbered 835-844, and designated FEF-3. All three classes developed 63,800 lbs of tractive effort.
Throughout their service careers multiple modifications were made, including conversion to oil, feedwater heater systems, addition of smoke lifters (designated Wind Wings on UP drawings) and a Mars light, and replacement of stacks from singles to doubles and even triple stacks. UP 844, the final steam locomotive delivered to UP, has been in continuous service on Union Pacific since it was built in 1944; renumbered from UP 844 to UP 8444 between June 1962 and June 1989.
In this production, BLI is modeling the FEF-2 Class and also the #844 with its Mars Light. Notable features are listed below:
Accurately modeled FEF-2 double stack and triple stack - prototypically accurate for each road number

In 1993, Amtrak placed an order with GE for 44 -Genesis AMD 103- P40DC passenger locomotives. They were designed to be short enough to fit in low-profile tunnels and had extra bracing installed in the nose for collisions. The sleek and modern design made the locomotive more aerodynamic than other models which made them more fuel efficient. They were all equipped with HEP (Head End Power) for providing power to the passenger cars. By 2004, Amtrak started to retrofit their locomotives with bolt-on noses. In the event of a grade crossing accident, they could be easily replaced and put back into service.

Prototype Information:
In 1955, Fairbanks Morse offered a new design for their existing H16-44 Phase I/II model locomotives. These changes involved raising the walkway & simplifying the short & long hood to make construction easier. Exterior-wise the locomotives looked much like their bigger brother – the H24-66 but with 4 axles instead of 6. Under the hood the locomotives were nearly identical to the earlier phases of H16-44 except for replacing the Westinghouse Electrical System with a more reliable General Electric system.
A total of 165 of the H16-44 Phase III Locomotives were built between 1955 and 1963. Locomotives for the Canadian Pacific Railway & Canadian National Railway were built by Fairbanks Morse subsidiary Canadian Locomotive Company. A total of 58 H16-44s of were built at this plant. The last H16-44 was built for the Ferrorcarril de Chihuahua al Pacifico Railroad in 1963. This was the last Fairbanks Morse Locomotive to roll off the assembly line as the company folded the same year.
HO MLW M420 MR20c - DCC & Sound - Canadian National (Stripes) #3560
-NOTE:
Preliminary artwork. Subject to change or revisions before production.
The M420 was equipped with the ALCO 12V-251c3 prime mover producing 2000 H.P. Most M420 units rode on MLW ZWT (Zero
Weight- Transfer) trucks. The only exception to this were the 5 units built for the Providence & Worcester, which rode on ALCO
trade-in FA trucks. The P&W required a different bolster design and different truck spacing, making them unique.
MLW constructed 103 M420s between May 1973 and February 1977 for four railways including CN (80), BCR (16 including
eight B units), Ferrocarriles del Estado (2), Providence & Worcester (5).
CN would take delivery of the M420s in 3 groups: MR-20a class 2500-2529 (delivered 1973), MR-20b class 2530- 2559
(delivered 1974), and MR-20c class 2560-2579 (delivered 1976).
All of the CN units were retired by 1998 and today many of these locomotives have found second careers on short lines all over
North America.

PROTOTYPE HISTORY:
The modern 100 ton, high-cube, 60? boxcar has become ubiquitous in the modern rail scene. These cars are designed to carry a myriad of loads, from auto parts to forest products. These boxcars are a fixture to any modern freight train.
This Athearn model depicts accurately a Gunderson built boxcar. Many paint schemes from the extremely similar Trenton/Greenbrier built cars are also offered as close stand-in type models.
Spray Can - Pearl Blue (100mL)
This product is considered HAZARDOUS. Shipping restrictions may apply. This item may not be shipped by air.
Tamiya TS clear-coat spray is a synthetic lacquer that cures in a short period of time. The spray paint is extremely useful for painting large model surfaces. Tamiya spray paints are not affected by acrylic or enamel paints, therefore, following the painting of the entire assembly, details can be added or highlighted using enamel and/or acrylic paints.
Allow paint to fully cure before using clear coat. This will prevent the clear coat from cracking due to different cure rates from the paint underneath. For best results allow up to one week. Make sure to test clear coating over decals before applying to a finished project. Applying clear coat can harm some decals.
NOTE: TAMIYA TS paint is not designed to be used with clear Polycarbonate/LEXAN R/C body shells. The paint will flake off. For Polycarbonate applications please use Tamiya PS spray paint.

HO Budd Coach w/HEP: Painted, Unlettered
Rapido is pleased to announce the Superior Stainless Budd Coaches, as well as VIA Rail HEP1 & HEP2 Coaches, in HO Scale.
All 30 Coaches were delivered to Canadian Pacific in 1954 and 1955 and were initially numbered in the 100-series under Canadian Pacific. All but one of the original coaches were transferred to VIA Rail Canada in 1978 and, save for those damaged in derailments, are all still in use today. They form the backbone of most of VIA Rail Canadas services to this day, found not only on the busy Quebec City-Windsor corridor, but on all other services across the country, including The Canadian, Ocean, Hudson Bay and northern Quebec services.
Beginning in the late 1980s, VIA Rail upgraded its entire ex CPR Budd stainless steel fleet with Head End Power (referred to as HEP), which allowed newer locomotives to be able to heat the trains without the need for aging steam generator cars. These cars are called HEP1 cars and are typically found on long-distance trains today. Many coaches and baggage cars can also be found in intercity service on the Quebec City-Windsor corridor.
Additionally, VIA Rail began purchasing second-hand Budd cars throughout 1990s from Amtrak and other second/third/forth-hand owners to supplement its fleet and allow for expansion. These cars would be completely rebuilt as either first class VIA 1 Cars or Coaches and were called HEP2 cars. These cars contain pass-through MU (multiple unit) cables and are almost exclusively found in intercity service on the Quebec City-Windsor corridor.
Our models are based on the original, steam-heated Canadian Pacific cars. However, we have tooled new HEP2 car sides as well as both HEP1 and HEP2 car ends.
Most of the Budd cars originally purchased by Canadian Pacific, as well as those bought used by VIA Rail, continue to form an integral part of both intercity and long distance services to this day. They will no doubt find a suitable use on your model railroad too.
Each Rapido Superior Stainless Coach includes:
- Realistic stainless steel finish

LokSound
In 1970, CP embarked on a progam to rebuild its aging fleet of GP9 road switchers. The locomotives had their front noses chopped along with many other appearance details change. The later rebuilds would receive upgraded 645 power assemblies. The rebuild program lasted until 1990 and ushered in the plain CP Rail red scheme.
Starting in 1993, CP converted various end-cab switchers to daughter units, or slugs, by decommissioning or
removing the prime mover (replacing it with ballast to return the unit to its operating weight) and drawing power for the traction motors from GP9u mother units using cables that were semi-permanently connected between the units.
All of the mother units were drawn from the 1500/1600 series of GP9u units.

HO Hyundai 48ft Exterior Post - NACS #200443
PROTOTYPE TYPE:
48ft Exterior Post containers were introduced in 1986 and were a common site on nearly all double stack container trains of the later 80s, 90s, and 2000s. These containers were used for domestic freight service and were purchased by numerous railroads and freight operators in large numbers. These containers were a unique design in which the front and side container panels were supported by aluminum channel posts mounted outside of the container box to provide additional capacity space for larger pallet stacks within the container interior. The posts are a simple spotting feature for these styles of containers. Hyundai was one of a handful of manufacturers of exterior post containers, and while nearly-identical in design to one of their competitors, the additional drainage channel on the top of the container at the head end, and full-height end corner posts differentiate this container from its competitors design. Some of these containers served secondary lives for more than one operator, leading to some interesting graphic combinations over their lifespans. Changes to over-the-road length allowances for 53ft containers and trailers brought about the eventual demise of the 48ft container and a majority of them were withdrawn from service during the mid-2000s and beyond, though limited numbers still remain in service today.
FEATURES:
Hyundai Roof Configuration Version:
A unique feature of the Hyundai design was the additional water drainage channel near the front end of the container and the forward vertical framing members that extended the full height of the container. We have modeled the detail that differentiates this container from those of other manufacturers of 48ft exterior post containers.
Sharp And Accurate Paint And Lettering:
Classonemodelworks.com provides accurate paint and lettering taken from photographs of the prototype, and numbering that matches the class numbers for each operator or railroad. Our containers come with the exterior posts already painted to match the aluminum color of the prototype containers and galvanized coloring for the upper and lower structural channels.
Accurately Dimensioned:
These containers have been accurately reproduced from hand-measured field dimensions of the actual containers, right down to every visible detail. Classonemodelorks.com stands for accuracy and we strive to provide that with every model we produce.
Accurate scale Door latching Details:
Classonemodelworks.com believes in providing models that accurately depict the prototype equipment. Keeping that as our core, we are proud to provide highly-detailed cast door locking bars, latching mechanisms, door bumpers and angled bar lifter.
Acrylic Flat Colors - Medium Blue - 3/4oz (23mL) Bottle
XF-18
Tamiya acrylic paints are made from water-soluble acrylic resins and are excellent for either brush painting or air-brushing. These paints can be used on styrol resins, Styrofoam, wood, plus all of the common model plastics. The paint covers well, flows smoothly and can be blended easily.
When airbrushing make sure to use any of the following Tamiya thinners: 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520, 87077
X designated colors have a glossy finish while XF designated colors are flat finish.
The paint can be also thinned for airbrushing using Tamiya Lacquer Thinner. Using Tamiya Lacquer Thinner will yield faster drying results and a harder finish.
For better paint brushing results use Paint Retarder for a smoother brushstroke free finish.

Product Information
When the domestic intermodal container market settled out in the late 90s, the 53Ft long container emerged the winner. Car builders responded with new wells of like size to accommodate the new standard. Introduced in series service in early 2000, Thralls triple 53Ft articulated well car was certainly the best looking of the 53Ft wells. Angular wheel cutouts, 3 flared-bottom wide and 8 narrow side posts give this intermodal age well car character.

Continuing upon the successful SD60-series, in 1992 EMD debuted the next step in locomotive evolution with the SD70-series. While outwardly similar at first glance to the SD60M, the D.C.-drive SD70M featured several external design refinements from the predecessor model. Battery boxes were relocated to the left-hand side walkway immediately behind the cab, a large, boxy forward traction motor blower housing replaced the angular version used on SD60s, the raised walkway duct on the left hand walkway was eliminated, and an intake for the rear traction motor blower on the left hand side of the carbody, directly under the rear radiator intake grill, was added.
Internally, the SD70 boasted improvements as well; a 16-710GB prime mover, rated at 4,000hp, was coupled to a new alternator design, the AR20. New D70TR traction motors were standard, and controlling all of this power and locomotive function was EMD’s new EM2000 microprocessor, which boasted more memory, twice the processing speed, and improved locomotive self-diagnostic capabilities compared to the processor suite used in the SD60. Even more revolutionary was the inclusion of EMD’s patented “Radial” truck design, the HTC-R. This design, which made its debut under EMD Demo SD60 #3, replaced the venerable HT-C truck, and is unique in its ability to shift, or “steer”, the wheelsets laterally through curves, resulting in greatly reduced wheelset and track wear, and coupled with the new D70TR traction motors and EM2000 microprocessor, greatly improved adhesion.
Continuing with previous practice, EMD built a set of Demonstrator SD70Ms, EMD 7000-7002, all equipped with the North American safety-cab (hence the “M” in their model designation), and decked out in an attractive gray, silver, and burgundy paint scheme. These units travelled all over North America, showing off the latest technology from EMD. Southern Pacific, Union Pacific and eventually Norfolk Southern would sign up for the SD70M models. Although NS started out with the “Spartan” cab SD70, they eventually returned for the SD70M model. By 2004 the SD70M began to be delivered with the familiar “flared” radiator grilles. Both NS and UP have examples of these locomotives on their roster, and you can still find most of the entire fleet of SD70Ms in regular service today.

PROTOTYPE AND BACKGROUND INFO:
An intermodal container is a large standardized shipping container, designed and built for intermodal freight transport, meaning these containers can be used across different modes of transport from ship to rail to truck without unloading and reloading their cargo. Forty-five foot containers such as this model are commonly used in situations where increased capacity is needed. Corrugating the sheet metal used for the sides and roof contributes significantly to the containers rigidity and stacking strength, just like in corrugated iron or in cardboard boxes. International (ISO) containers have castings with openings for twist lock fasteners at each of the eight corners, to allow gripping the box from above, below, or the side, and they can be stacked up to ten units high for storage.

Rapido is happy to announce the next in their series of classic General Electric locomotives, the C30-7 in HO scale.
The C30-7 was General Electrics improvement of the U30C locomotive, featuring a 16-cylinder 3,000 horsepower diesel engine. Built between September 1976 and May 1986, over 1100 units were produced for many of the Class I railroads across the United States for use primarily in heavy-haul freight. A fair number would go on to have extended careers with both short/regional lines and private industrial railroads, owing to the locomotives reliability and pulling power.
It is, perhaps, the most polarizing locomotive from the 1980s and early 90s. The C30-7 was GEs answer to the SD40-2. When one thinks of Powder River and coal, the C30-7 isnt far behind. Burlington Northern owned the most in the States, with just over 240 examples. Santa Fe was a distant second with 157 C30s.
The C30-7 later gave way to the similar C36-7, as well as various unique models such as the Conrail C30-7A and the BC Rail C36-8m, rebuilt from former Conrail C30-7s.

HO RTR Trinity Rail 3281 Cu Ft 2-Bay Covered Hopper - St. Lawrence Cement SLCX #12
(2007; gray, Yellow Conspicuity Marks)
Product Information
This HO Scale TrinityRail 3281 Cu.Ft. 2-Bay Covered Hopper is based on a common late-1990s and later prototype commonly used to haul frac sand, roofing granules and similar materials. With the boom in frack sand traffic it isnt uncommon to see these prototypes used in unit trains. Prototype cars measure 41ft-11inch long, and the cars are equipped with three or five round loading hatches and a pair of gravity outlets for commodity off-loading. Compared with earlier 2-bay covered hoppers, these cars are distinctive. Notably, an overhanging arched roof, heavy top reinforcement stiffener, and folded jack pads at the bolster are spotting features for the Trinity 3281. This design has proven to be popular with shippers and railroads alike. The HO scale freight car features an injection-molded body, applied wire grab irons, photo-etched walkways and working shelf-type knuckle couplers without trip pins for scale appearance. Other details include roadnumbers printed on the truck sideframes, coupler cut levers, NMRA compliant car weight, trucks with spinning bearing caps, multiple roadnumbers per scheme and graffiti on select roadnumbers.
